Geographical revelation!

Ok it's been a long time since I made a blog entry... and so the latest update pertains to my geography knowledge (or lack thereof) regarding Southeast Asia ;p

Today in aviation law, I realised that East Malaysia is actually not within Peninsula Malaysia itself.
Rather, East Malaysia (the yellow coloured land) shares a piece of land with Indonesia (the purple coloured land), which means that East Malaysia is separated from the main land of Peninsula Malaysia by a very big body of water (much much much bigger than the sea off Changi Beach) even though they belong under one State!
Makes you feel that Pulau Ubin or Pula Tekong arent so far from main land Singapore after all ;)

Six years of primary school, four years of secondary school, two years of junior college, three years in university... and this is by far the biggest geographical enlightenment I've had! Wahaha
This would explain why I always thought that Kota Kinabalu is in Indonesia when in actual fact its in East Malaysia...

The "oldies" three years ago when we were still freshies :]

Always young at heart

Yesterday was our NUS NPCC Mega CSSP seminar.. The event went well and I'm glad that emcee-ing went smoothly as well especially when at the last moment I had to do moderation for the Q&A session :)

The highlight to me though was catching with fellow HOs from my batch -- which i now term as the "Oldies".. haha

We had fun chatting.. cracking jokes.. poking fun at each other.. catching up.. And I realise that... no matter where we are even for those who have graduated... whenever we meet up as a group.. we're always young at heart and start acting like kids again... truly young at heart =p

Looking forward to the next time we meet up... before one of us joins SPF! Wahaha

Long lengthy days, taxing tax law, running runners

Ah for the past few days... Moments passing have just been draining as mondays and tuesdays were long lengthy school days... Mondays are 9am to 6pm.. Tuesday was 9am to 930pm :S
On the positive note though, once my intensive modules ends today, my tuesdays will end at 6pm and thereby mark the start of my 2 day school week! Woohoo!!
For those who think this is slack... Haha it looks slack on paper but it really isnt when you look in totality at my law school years where for year 1 and year 2, it was a five day week for every semester... And of course, there is the need for self-discipline to study during the 'off days', which I hope can exercise =p

Spent the whole of Wednesday revising tax law... Its really quite a mental challenge to get the facts of the case right and to figure out exactly how people are structuring their transactions to minimise tax payments... After that would be to get the law clear so that we will always fall within the safe perimeters of the law... Then as my prof says... It is all about having a healthy despise of the law ;]

Wednesday was also the first day me and some of the cadets went for a run at bedok reservoir... Quite impressed with them as everyone finished in about 40mins... A very good timing for them first-timers especially the two secondary 1 cadets who came! When I was in sec 1, I didnt even complete 3km before and yet they've reached such a milestone... 2.4km should be no problems liao :)

Oh for a period of time I was running beside Lightning Jiamin McQueen and I was informed that she hasnt watched a movie for quite a while liao.. Her last cinema outing was probably to watch Toy Story... haha... so michelle and gang if you're reading this... do ask her out for a movie when the exams are over... let her experience once again the glorious impact of wonderous cinematography and state of the art sound systems!

A hilarious joke!

Life's secret weapon

Perhaps, even without oneself ever knowing, the greatest secret weapon is one's self-confidence that lies within...
